The ESP32-DevKitC V4 38-Pin development board is an expanded, high-performance prototyping platform built around the dual-core ESP-WROOM-32 module. Operating at clock speeds up to 240 MHz with integrated 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 (BLE), this 38-pin hardware layout provides full, unrestricted access to the ESP32’s complete GPIO and peripheral capabilities. Equipped with the fast CH9102 USB-to-UART serial bridge and a Micro-USB interface, the board offers stable auto-reset flashing and high-speed data transfer rates up to 4 Mbps, making firmware deployment fast and reliable across modern development environments like the Arduino IDE, ESPHome, and ESP-IDF.
Compared to standard 30-pin V1 variants, the 38-pin (19 pins per side) layout breaks out additional internal SPI interface lines—including SD0, SD1, SD2, SD3, CMD, and CLK—alongside extra power and ground pins. This expanded footprint makes it natively compatible with advanced ESP32 configurations, including modules featuring on-chip PSRAM (such as the ESP32-WROVER series). Featuring dual tactile controls for Reset (EN) and Boot (IO0), an onboard 3.3V LDO regulator, and pre-soldered header pins, this board is ready out of the box for breadboard prototyping and complex IoT deployments.
