The ISACA Advanced in AI Risk™ (AAIR™) certification is an AI-focused IT risk management credential designed to strengthen the expertise of already-certified risk professionals. It validates the ability to evaluate AI-related vulnerabilities and opportunities, integrate AI risk into enterprise governance, and manage risk across the AI life cycle and risk programme. Our AAIR™ training prepares you to sit the official ISACA AAIR™ exam with confidence.
Who it is for
AAIR™ is aimed at experienced IT risk and advisory professionals who already hold a qualifying designation and need specialised skills to guide management on AI-related risk. Typical candidates include IT risk managers, enterprise risk and GRC practitioners, information security and governance leaders, and advisors who must align AI initiatives with organisational risk appetite, controls and regulatory expectations.
Prerequisites and eligibility
To qualify for AAIR™, candidates must hold an active qualifying designation. ISACA certifications that qualify include CISA®, CISM®, CRISC®, CGEIT® and CDPSE®. A wide range of other recognised global designations also qualify (including, among others, CISSP, CGRC, CIA, CRMA, CRMP, PMI-RMP and selected professional accounting credentials). Exam domains covered
Training is aligned to the three AAIR™ job practice areas tested on the exam:
- Domain 1 – AI Risk Governance and Framework Integration (37%)
- Domain 2 – AI Life Cycle Risk Management (21%)
- Domain 3 – AI Risk Program Management (42%)
The official exam consists of 90 multiple-choice questions over 2.5 hours (150 minutes), delivered as a computer-based test via PSI (test centre or live remote proctoring where available). Exam languages include English, Spanish and Chinese.
