                  VL53L0X Time-of-Flight (ToF) Laser Distance Sensor

                  Millimeter-Accurate Distance Measurement Independent of Surface Color

                  The VL53L0X is a high-precision distance sensor powered by STMicroelectronics’ patented FlightSense™ Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology. Unlike traditional ultrasonic or infrared sensors that rely on reflected light intensity—making them unreliable on dark or reflective surfaces—the VL53L0X measures the exact time it takes for invisible laser light to bounce back to the sensor. This provides true, absolute distance readings up to 2 meters.

                  Featuring an integrated 940nm VCSEL laser (completely eye-safe and invisible to human eyes), internal physical IR filters, and an embedded microcontroller, the VL53L0X delivers rapid response times in a compact breakout format.

                  • True Time-of-Flight Measurement: Calculates distance based on photon travel time, completely unaffected by target color, surface texture, or reflectivity.

                  • Eye-Safe 940nm Infrared Laser: Emits invisible Class 1 VCSEL laser pulses that comply with strict safety standards.
