This school technology project provides an engaging, hands-on introduction to fundamental electronics and physical computing. Designed around building a dark-activated sensor model, students learn how basic electronic components interact to automate real-world devices like streetlights or security alarms. By assembling the circuit, learners gain practical experience with voltage distribution, transistor switching, and light-dependent sensing, bridging the gap between theoretical science concepts and functional engineering.
The project encourages creative design alongside technical problem-solving. Using grid paper to plan and recyclable cardboard to construct the physical structure, students integrate their completed electronic circuit into a customized 3D model. It serves as an ideal classroom activity for fostering critical thinking, spatial planning, and foundational circuit troubleshooting skills.
