This module is based on the Maxim DS1302 trickle-charge timekeeping chip. It keeps track of seconds, minutes, hours, date, month, day of the week and year (with leap-year compensation) and can continue running from a backup battery when main power is off. Popular for adding a clock to Arduino and other microcontroller projects.
